Akademie für Neues Lernen is a private educational institution specializing in preparing students for the Abitur (German high school diploma). Its goal is to prepare students specifically for the Bavarian Abitur. The academy emphasizes personal responsibility and offers an alternative to the traditional school system. It is aimed at young people who, after tenth grade, are looking for a new path to the Abitur. The team consists of around 30 freelance teachers who support about 50 students.

Starting point: many individual solutions and inefficient workflows
Before introducing Fuxam, the academy used various programs for different tasks. For example, there were separate tools for timetables, chats, submissions, video conferencing, and document creation. This variety of applications, however, presented challenges in everyday work: workflows were sometimes complex and cumbersome, communication was inefficient, and onboarding new colleagues took considerably more time.
Choosing Fuxam: everything in one system
The search for a suitable learning management system began four years ago. Many alternatives were tested, from large well-known providers to smaller ones. But no solution really fit. Many programs were either too small, too complicated, or too focused on the traditional school routine. Fuxam won them over with a clear and easy-to-understand interface. It was especially important that administration and the learning platform were bundled in one piece of software. Another advantage was the ability to build the new structure in the background without disrupting ongoing operations. Compared to large providers, Fuxam was also attractively priced. Personal contact and support from the Fuxam team were also a decisive factor.
Implementation and use: fast switch and intuitive operation
Onboarding went smoothly. An easy-to-understand introductory video and flexible calls made getting started easy.
My fifteen-year-old brother understood the system immediately.
The switch from the old system to Fuxam was seamless and completed within a single working day.
Fuxam is used in many ways at the academy. The organization and structuring of lessons now run centrally through Fuxam. The academy works on the principle of self-directed learning. Teachers create lesson units, and students work through the content independently. Onboarding new staff also runs through Fuxam. Teachers can create and maintain course structures themselves.
Impact and results: more efficiency, less stress
Clear improvements were visible shortly after introducing Fuxam. Time was saved onboarding new staff. Communication between teachers, students, and administration has become simpler and clearer overall.

Sources of error were reduced because duplicate entries could be avoided. Everyday work has become noticeably simpler, since there's no longer a need to switch between different programs.
Everything around us is shaped by constant change. In this unfolding transformation, it's time to redefine education entirely. Akademie für Neues Lernen follows this guiding idea — and we're glad to digitize education together and implement new approaches.
